Jack Gibson

Senior Director, Automotive

Jack’s career began as an apprentice electrician working on various projects in the power, gas compression, and automotive sectors. He sharpened his skills as he expanded his roles, including estimating, procurement, project management, and operations management.

"I spent the early part of my career learning every aspect of the construction business and what it takes to lead a successful project and an integrated team," says Jack. This experience led him to a role at Aecon as Vice President of Construction.

At Aecon he led many large projects, leveraging his understanding of the energy and industrial markets. Most notably, he assured the successful completion of the Sask Power Queen Elizabeth Power Plant, the UGL Dawn to Parkway compressor stations, the Spectra Energy Sunset Creek (BC) compressor station, and the Northland Power Solar projects.

An Industry Veteran Joins Alltrade

After a distinguished career at Aecon, Jack joined the Alltrade team first as a consultant, and then as Senior Director. His depth of industry experience and drive have brought a new level of excellence to Alltrade’s industrial project delivery. As part of the Alberici-Barton Malow joint venture, he currently leads the Alltrade team on the construction of NextStar Energy’s massive 4.5 million SF battery manufacturing plant in Windsor, Ontario.

“I’ve always loved working on large and complex projects, and the scale and scope of this project is truly astonishing,” Jack says. “Being part of the team that is defining the building standards and approach for a whole new manufacturing sector is about as good as it gets.”

Jack is excited to be at the leading edge of North America’s electric vehicle revolution and sees a bright future for Alltrade in this rapidly developing sector. Not content to rest on his laurels, Jack is already looking ahead to new projects where his technical and leadership experience will benefit the teams pioneering new projects in green manufacturing.

Pioneering New Industries

Over the span of Jack’s career, he served on several boards and committees within the construction industry in various roles. These include Boards of Directors of the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario (ECAO), the Electrical Contractors Association of Central Ontario (ECACO), and the Electrical Power System Construction Association (EPSCA). Through years of involvement with these associations, he acquired skills in working with his union counterparts.

Jack also serves on Alltrade’s Executive Leadership Team, where his collaborative leadership style and vision help guide the company’s industrial and automotive strategy.

Jack lives with his spouse Cindy in Cambridge, Ontario and they enjoy traveling, golfing, cooking, gardening, and getting together with friends and family.
